Abstract
Stress is a natural response that occurs when we are threatened or overwhelmed. It hampers function of the immune system, leaving people more vulnerable to amny diseases. It also affects some disorders directly. If not managed appropriately, stress can lead to serious problems. Exposure to chronic stress can contribute to both physical illnesses such as heart diseases and mental illnesses, such as anxiety disorders. This clinical study on the water extract prepared from specific chemo-type of asvagandha (withamnia somnifera) has shown significant anti-stress activity with special reference to occupational stress.
