Abstract
Safe motherhood is a challenge taken by WHO in 1994. The national healthy policy makers have paid a considerable attention to make the motherhood safe that requires action on tree fronts simulaneously viz. Reducing the number of high risk and unwanted pregnancies. Reducing the number of obstetric complications. Reducing case fatality rate in women with complications. Among various obstetric complications uterine intertia or uterine dysfunction is most important in Ayurvedic Classic. This condition is described as "Garbha sanga" or "Garbha Kosha parasanga". The present study was undertaken to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of Vasa Pippali, Langali and Vacha in the management of uterine inertia, Vasa was administered orally in Swarasa from and the power of Vacha, Langali, Pippali alongwith Eranda taila was daministered externally as Nabhilepa to get oxytocic effect. The drugs were administered in two groups and the results was highly significant in both the groups as compared to control group.
