Aboriginal Medicinal Flora in Night Blindness Management: A Promising Move towards Drug Development for Refractory Nyctalopla Through Reverse Pharmacology

Abstract
Night blindness, which is also referred to as Nyctalopia is the lack of normal night vision following the adjustment period. It is most often caused by vitamin A deficiency and retinal dystrophies. Revelation of veiled knowledge about single ophthalmic plant drugs indicated in " Night blindness" scattered elsewhere in ancient and medieval Ayurvedic literature is vital to promote reseach and revalidation. Further more a special attention to analyse these drugs based on Pharmacodynamic /kinetic principles mentioned in Ayurvedic pharmacology is also crucial to arrive rational conclusions concerning the probable mode of action of these agents. This would help in creating possible basis for formulation of strategy for developing appropriate topical drops and oral dosage forms to manage syndromes associatd with night blindness.
