Biography of Acarya priya vrata sarma and his contribution to ayurveda

Abstract
Acarya Priyavrata Sarma is well known for his valuable contribution in the field of Ayurveda. A prolific Writer, Orator, Teacher, Research Scholar, Leader, Administrator and above all a good Human being stood as an emblem for Ayurveda in the 20th century. He was born on 1st November, 1920, in a small village named Mustafapur near Khagol in district Patna, Bihar in the family of traditional Vaidya. His father was pandita Ramavatara Misra Vaidyabhusana and mother was Srimati Premadulari Devi. He was highly qualified in Ayurveda, Sanskrit and Hindi and held highest positions in Academic as well as in Administrative fields in Ayurveda. Acarya Priyavrata Sarma authored 35 books, edited 14 Ayurvedic manuscripts and 3 books and has about 500 scientific papers to his credit. he participated in several National an International confeences and was associated with several committees on Ayurveda at National level.
