Abstract
Safe motherhood is a challenge taken by Who(1994) and a pregnant woman needs to eat and rest more than she does when she is otherwise. WHO studies have shown that the diseases during pregnancy are the highest of all in woman during reproductive period. Ayurveda has a vast knowledge about conception formation and development of pregnancy and its complication along with a clear idea on the pathology of item. Many preparations are advised by ayurvedic Acharyas for the maintenance of healthy pregnancy and proper growth of the foetus. In this study i.e. Punarnavadi mandura is chosen to establish is efficacy in antenatal care. It is an open clinical trial. The result shows that it is a very good drug for the management of pregnancy mainly for the supplementation of iron and to prevent the common complaints during pregnancy like-panduta Agnimanday, jeerna, Udarashola, Krimi and Shotha.
